Like Two Years of College in One Book

Wow! This one goes through the history of architecture in a way that isn't dumbed down, yet isn't egg-headish, either. Extremely well written, focusing on prominent architects of history and the many, many "genres" and fads of architecture, replete with illustrations. Very good book for people like me who knew very little on the topic.
